Pinky

We first met Pinky at the shelter when she escaped from her home. She decided to head down to a gas station where the employees let her stay in the backroom until we got there. The employees just adored her and fed her beef jerky while she waited.

We picked her up and took her back to the shelter where we decided to call her "Pinky."  She looked too cute all decked out in pink! It just seemed fitting. 💓

The same night that we picked her up from the gas station, we also found her owners. They came and got her, and they explained to us that she was an "escape artist."

A few months later, we ended up with Pinky again at the shelter. Her owners came to get her for the second time with the same story. This wasn't the end of Pinky's escapes, and we continued to find Pinky at the shelter time and time again. Her owners finally confessed that their backdoor was broken and they hadn't fixed it. 😠

The last time she escaped, the shelter decided to have her owners fined for their negligence. In the end, Pinky ended up staying with us at the shelter. This was her in the photo below looking for a new forever home.

Pinky stayed with us at the shelter for several months. We tried our best to spoil her with hotdogs, biscuits, love, and lots of playtime. We were determined to find her the purrfect home that would care about her enough to take proper care of her.

And we did...

Pinky now spends her days still decked in all pink cuddled up with her furrever family. She now goes by "Shadow." Her humans are so happy to have her, and she is even happier! 💖

  1. It is so upsetting when animals aren't properly cared for! It breaks my heart. I am so glad Pinky, or Shadow found her new forever home. Hopefully she is loved and well taken care of now.

  3. Poor Pinky. I don't understand why people take on animals they can't provide adequate care for. I really want a Cockatiel but they can live for 15 years and so I've been debating whether to get one or not. No matter what though, I will make sure my lil guy doesn't end up like Pinky did. Super happy she found a new home :)
