COVID-19 :(
I think everyone knows what COVID-19 is by now. This virus hasn't seemed to have much of an impact on our shelter with adoptions like it has others. Unfortunately, we have not had many come in to foster any of our animals. 😿
Most of our volunteers are older, retired ladies who have lots of time on their hands. To ensure the safety of the at-risk volunteers, our president decided to close the shelter down to the public for the time being.
Being that the animals are dependent upon the volunteers and animal control to care for them, we have a schedule for the volunteers to take turns caring for them. This helps to limit the spread of germs at the shelter.
We are extremely hopeful that this situation will clear itself up in the next 30-45 days, and we can reopen the shelter to the public. 😺
In the meantime, I hope that everyone stays healthy and safe. This too shall pass.
