The Boss

At the shelter, we have one cat who runs the show. He has been the boss of the shelter for around 8 years and counting. His name is Oscar!

As you can see, he has a pretty ruff life at the shelter. He spends his days basking in the sunshine from his own area in the cat room when he isn't begging for attention. But who am I kidding? He is the center of attention.

Every year at Christmas time, he gets his photo taken with Santa.

Every bed or any soft surface that is donated, he thinks belongs to him. He sleeps in all the donated cat towers too!

He loves to take adventures outside. If he isn't supervised, he likes to attach himself to the telephone pole. He's too old and chunky to climb it too far, but he does try.

Oscar is the best cat ever (besides Amy's cats)! He takes care of all the orphaned kittens like he is their mother.

If you are interested in meeting Oscar, come out during adoption hours (after corona of course)! You can meet him and all his furry friends! 😸

  2. Pet shelters are still "essential"! We were able to get our new cat adopted during this lockdown. More people should know this!

  3. Sam, I love your blog!! Seeing animals especially during these times brings so much joy to my day, and Oscar is so cute! I'm so hopeful that animals at shelters can find good and loving homes in these difficult times, we all could use a pet right now :)

  4. Haha, this is so great! My favorite part was that Oscar takes care of the other cats. How loving. I never would've thought that an animal shelter would be classified as an essential business but this is nice!

  5. Oscar and Fluffy (Elina) would get along so well! It sounds like they have very similar personalities. I hope Oscar gets a kind and loving home. One of the best decisions I've made was adopting my two furbabies! :3 <3
